Aycorn East

Last Thursday was the first meeting of Aycorn east, arts and young children regional network. I delivered a workshop alongside presentations by Charlottle Arculus of Magic Adventure and Joy Haynes of Norwich Puppet Theatre.

In the east of England we have a wealth of enthusiasm, expertise and appetite for high quality early years arts practice, across all art forms.  This network will hopefully grow to include other venues, artists, nurseries and organisations with passion for this exciting and crucial sector.

You can find Aycorn East on Facebook and Twitter to get updates on future events.

This photo was taken near the end of my workshop. We are all lying on the floor looking up at the extraordinary "thing" we have just made. Tower workshops are not only a great way to work with young children but are a fantastic team building, ice breaking, mind opening activity for everyone.

A boat on wheels with a few holes in it (The Harnser)

I had the privilege of working with Tinhouse and Norwich Puppet Theatre on the Torch Relay and Lords Mayor's Celebrations in Norwich last week. Oohh the fun we had larking around, getting people wet, singing songs and holding up the traffic. It was great to work alongside such great performers and on such a beautiful boat, although I don't vouch for its seaworthiness!

Wells Christmas Tide

I had such a lovely time at Xmas tide this year. I spent the day goofing around with the E.L.F. The crowd at Wells were really up for having a laugh which made our elf-ing all the more fun and enjoyable.

I then had a quick change into the lantern lady! This year we kept the lanterns plain and I think they looked really beautiful coming down Staithe Street. This is the main shopping street in Wells and it is really narrow, heading down towards the quay. It looked magical with fire breathers, Tricks and Sticks drumming and the lanterns all parading towards the sea for Father Christmas's arrival.

Booom! provided some topclass fireworks for the crowds and then they all headed off to meet Santa. I snuck off home at this point, it had been a very busy day!
