Aycorn East

22/9/2014

Last Thursday was the first meeting of Aycorn east, arts and young children regional network. I delivered a workshop alongside presentations by Charlottle Arculus of Magic Adventure and Joy Haynes of Norwich Puppet Theatre.

In the east of England we have a wealth of enthusiasm, expertise and appetite for high quality early years arts practice, across all art forms.  This network will hopefully grow to include other venues, artists, nurseries and organisations with passion for this exciting and crucial sector.

You can find Aycorn East on Facebook and Twitter to get updates on future events.

This photo was taken near the end of my workshop. We are all lying on the floor looking up at the extraordinary "thing" we have just made. Tower workshops are not only a great way to work with young children but are a fantastic team building, ice breaking, mind opening activity for everyone.

Very very excited to be part of Team Magic for the 2014 residencies of Magic Adventure. Magic Adventure is an interactive installation for very young children and babies. I will be lucky enough to be working with Charlotte Arculus and Saffron Paffron; amazing performers and makers who originally devised and designed the show. Alongside them, are two fantastic music practitioners and performers; Natalie Willis and Mary Lovett. We spent the first week of 2013 doing research and development for an upcoming residency in the spring. It is a real privilege to be working with such a talented bunch of people I am going to be learning lots.

Really excited to be working with Seeing beyond and Tell me a tale on a gorgeous bit of multi sensory theatre called "Tunnels". I have had two days of rehearsals so far; one more to go before the performances at The Garage in Norwich on Monday. Quite a steep learning curve, but that's the way I like it!
